Flat roofing in Oxford
EPDM, GRP, and TPO membrane systems for extensions, dormers, garages, and small commercial. Twenty-five-year membranes laid by hand, not patched felt.
What we do
Most of our flat-roof work is on the back of an Oxford kitchen extension where the felt's already been patched two or three times. The fix isn't more felt. It's a proper strip back to the deck, fresh insulation to current Approved Document L, falls set so water actually drains, and a single-piece EPDM membrane bonded edge to edge. Done right, you stop thinking about the flat roof for twenty-five years.
System options
- EPDM (rubber). Single-ply rubber membrane. Most common UK choice for residential extensions and garages. 25 to 50 year lifespan.
- GRP (fibreglass). Reinforced fibreglass laid on-site as a single continuous piece. Premium look, 25+ year lifespan, excellent for visible flat roofs.
- TPO. Single-ply thermoplastic. Heat-welded seams, energy-efficient white surface, popular for commercial.
What's included
- Strip-off of existing roof if replacement
- Insulation upgrade to current standards
- Membrane install with full edge detailing
- New flashings, drips, and outlets
- Cleanup and removal of all waste
What a failed flat roof actually costs
A felt flat roof past its lifespan holds water for a season, then the deck rots underneath. Once the deck's gone, you're not paying for a re-cover, you're paying for a full strip, deck replacement, and re-board. The difference between a straight EPDM re-cover and a full rebuild is usually one wet winter. Catching it before the deck softens is several times cheaper.
